Terraria wings are Hardmode assistants that allow the player to fly momentarily by encircling and holding the Jump solution. They also provide immunization from fall damage (except when the professional is affected by the Stoned debuff), rendering the Lucky Horseshoe, 

Obsidian Horseshoe, Featherfall Potion, etc. optional By recommencing to hold the  Jump key after flight time has been exhausted, the player can glide. Gliding lowering speed can be accelerated by holding the ▼ Down key besides. Certain Wings can additionally allow the player to hover at fixed heights.


Equipping Wings generally replaces jumps entirely with flight, rather than expecting a double-jump to activate. With accessories like Cloud in a Bottle and variants equipped the player will have to use their double-jump before being able to fly. The flight is enormously more controlled with Wings than with Rocket Boots, Spectre Boots, etc. alone, and allow for much greater terraria wings flight range. Flight time is reset when the player stands on blocks or grabs a block with Grappling Hooks.
